Wii - Mentally, Physcially, and Emotionally Helpful

This Christmas we got spoiled hugely. And one of the best gifts that we got and gave was the Nintendo Wii.

Hearing a lot about it, mostly the commercials for Wii yoga, we decided to purchase it for ourselves and our parents.

What a huge surprise we had in store for us about how much we would enjoy it and how good it would be for us.

Wii sports has interactive games like bowling, golf, and tennis. You are actually using a wireless sensor remote and swinging the golf club or hitting the tennis ball by your movements.

All of us enjoyed the games and being bowlers for most of our lives we knew that accuracy of the bowling game was dead on. It actually felt like we were in the bowling alley but with the comfort of our own home.

Not only did we get off the couch and get some exercise but we also were
stimulated mentally and emotionally. It's fitness for every part of you!

I have to say that I would guarantee if you weren't feeling well in spirit and you played a game of interactive bowling or golfing you can't help but feel better during and afterwards. I'm not sure if it's the competition or the accomplishment when you finish the game or maybe it's just the fact of doing something that's really fun but you literally feel better afterwards.

I've been doing some reading on it since we got it and it turns out that many seniors homes are even bringing Wii into their residences. It keeps the residents active and
improves flexibility and agility. It also improves balance which is majorly important for elderly people considering a fall can put them in the hospital very quickly.

I've worked at a seniors home and I know the importance of keeping them active. In fact they get an exercise routine almost everyday and they are encouraged to participate. I would have to assume that the residents who wouldn't normally participate in a round circle exercise routine might take a chance at virtual bowling if given the opportunity.

Not only is it fun but it's
very user friendly. It took seconds to put together, which doesn't happen often, and we understood the mechanics of the games very quickly after we began playing.

I strongly recommend Wii as a gift for anyone regardless of age or ability for a natural high and improvement in health.
